You've angered an evil time wizard, and so he has sent you and your town out of the time stream. You've got 5 minutes left, and every 30 seconds the timestream grows unstable and gradually gets faster and faster. You can build your town to create seconds to survive longer, but all you will do is stall the inevitable.
